She could have been the Salvation Army, mind you there was no sign of a Tambourine.

Philip and Alan have been to the cinema to see Doctor Zchivago. Alan refuses to walk back past the Graveyard and they arrive back late, Rigsby's been waiting up for him. Rigsby tells Alan of his love of horror movies, and intent on scaring Alan he spins him a yarn of a ghost that walks the house, The Grey Lady. Alan relays the story to Philip and he decides to return the joke, and create his ghost.

This episode is near perfection, it's one of the funniest in the show's history, maybe even my favourite. It has some utterly hilarious one liners, 'have you ever met a vampire? ..get down the tax office.' I think I'd feel guilty calling it my favourite episode as there's no Miss Jones, but Brenda deputises very well. The appearances of Alan's grey Lady and Rigsby's reactions are side splitting, 'My god she's a size, wild hair and feet like barges, no wonder they walled her up,' utterly hilarious, but the part where they hold the séance had me on the floor laughing. Comedy Platinum!

Leonard Rossiter as always is a joy to watch, his sense of timing was just awesome, his facial expressions too just brilliant.

This episode is side splittingly funny, totally madcap. 10/10

The best ever episode

Having seen this series for years and I own the scripts, this has to be the best of the whole series, well that is my simple opinion.

One little point to know is that just before the seance, Rigsby accidentally touches Brenda' s breasts and says 'quite firm', now this sentence is not in the scripts, so sometimes I wonder did Leonard Rossiter say this line by accident but kept in character, so the camera's kept rolling.

It would be nice to think he did and they kept the camera's rolling.

If your not a fan of the show, watch this episode, this is wall to wall funny, from start to finish.

A sure winner, you will be smiling until it ends. Excellent.

Alan has taken Brenda out to the cinema's to see Dr Zhivago.

It seems Alan is a bit of a scaredy cat, he does not like to walk through the cemetery in the dark.

Rigsby tells Alan that there are better movies on the television than the cinema. Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolfman. Alan does not like horror movies.

Rigsby take an opportunity to try and frighten Alan before Alan and Phillip decide to get their own back on Rigsby.

Made after the release of The Exorcist and when both the Hammer Horror and old Universal horror films would be shown regularly on television. This was good fun, it goes all a bit Scooby Doo as Alan pretends to be the Grey Lady with large feet.

Rigsby even goes to see the vicar for an exorcism. Nice comic timing from everybody and I suspect in several scenes the cast were literally corpsing.

Ironic that Richard Beckinsale's daughter made a name for herself in horror films.
