A knitting needle! Classic.

Moonlight and Roses is one of my favourite episodes from this very strong second series, it sees Miss Jones in love, but not with Rigsby, with Desmond, the Librarian.

I wonder if Frances de la Tour had other work commitments, it always seemed so odd that she moved away from the show just as it was hitting its peak. we get a glimpse of the new character, Brenda, brilliantly played by Gabrielle Rose, she would appear in some wonderful episodes.

This is a favourite, it's funny, and the acting is superb, the performances in general are terrific. This is the first time we get the almost poetic monologues, which would become very popular in later episodes, listen to the way that Rossiter and Parkinson orate their lines, incredibly well.

Love it, sad to see Miss Jones bid farewell.

Excellent, 9/10.

Miss Jones is in love with Desmond who hangs around a lot at the library. He recites romantic poetry and showers her with flowers.

Rigsby has no chance with competing, his flowers are from the park. Meanwhile Alan sees this as an opportunity to move the woman he fancies, Brenda into Miss Jones's room.

Rigsby has no option to play dirty, he makes out to Desmond that Miss Jones is an alcoholic in order to cool his ardour.

I liked how they made France de la Tour to look different to show the audience that she is in love. I also liked Robin Parkinson's performance. He made Desmond out to be a genuine character who cares about Miss Jones.
