Grandpa Fogarty lives near the McCains and is one of these people that live by his own rules. He is poor and takes no charity from anyone. He lives in a shack with his young grandson named Woody. He is raising Woody just like he was brought-up which means he teaches him to take care of himself. When Lucas asks him to send Woody to school, Grandpa gets upset and throws him and Micah off his place.
Later a visitor, Debo Lee, comes to the house. But his action are even grimmer. It seems many years ago that there was a train robbery. Debo was sentenced to life in prison and for some reason Debo believes that Fogarty has the money. Debo has escaped from prison and wants the money putting Grandpa and Woody in danger.
Edgar Buchanan does a nice job of playing the grandfather which makes the story even more interesting. Was wondering if this was going to be another 'let the child go to school' plot but was surprised that the story was fresh and different. Nice watch.
