The men ask Favor to fire Carlock as they believe the lion is after him putting the men in danger. Carlock asks for one more night and takes Mushy with him as Mushy is tired of being the butt of the drover's jokes. Carlock posts Mushy at a site telling the naive Mushy to wear his coat.
