Eric Fleming: Gil Favor

Quotes

  • Teddy : I may take the trail again. Not with you.

Gil Favor : Whatever you like.

Pete Nolan : How about you, Rowdy?

Rowdy Yates : Ah, I've had my fill. Think I'll try something else.

Pete Nolan : When are you taking the train back to Philadelphia, Boss?

Gil Favor : Tomorrow morning. Nothing to keep me here.

Pete Nolan : Don't you want to stay over, and relax?

Gil Favor : Get drunk? I got better things to do.

  • Lou Calvert : I'm looking for him.

    [Johnny Coulter]

Gil Favor : You a friend of his?

Lou Calvert : No, no friend.

Gil Favor : What you want with him?

    Lou Calvert : I've got a reason.

Gil Favor : You also got a long ride, down to the Nations, shallow grave, and unnamed creek.

  • Gil Favor : I told you you're wasting your time.

Lou Calvert : It's my time to waste.

  • Gil Favor : [to Rowdy]  When are you ever gonna learn, just 'cos a woman got an angelic face don't mean she's an angel!

  • Wishbone : And I was feeling sorry for you, trying to defend you, thinking that, it wasn't that at all. You're just plain no good.

    Gil Favor : You finished?

Wishbone : Not by a long shot. Now maybe you do have problems, maybe everything isn't all sunshine and good grass. That's no reason to turn sour. Some of us got problems. But we're not gonna let a friend down.

Gil Favor : Well, I can't stop you if you want to get Rowdy into more trouble than he's already in.

  • Gil Favor : Guess I'm a fool, I'll probably die on the trail. Oh, the meeting will be at the railroad depot at Chicken Feathers Siding in four weeks. Will I see you then?

Rowdy Yates : Yeah, I hope to have caught up with some gals.

Wishbone : Or unless he gets caught up with some other girl.

    Gil Favor : Self-control, that's the secret.

Wishbone : Good luck in Philadelphia.

  • Officer : I know a scrawny cow when I see one.

Gil Favor : They done pretty good for scrawnies. They come 1500 miles on their own power. And ain't it your job just to count and load 'em?, Captain?

Officer : This the last of them?

Gil Favor : You're taking the tally, Captain.

Officer : You resent my rank, do you?

Gil Favor : No, I just don't much like anything about you.

Officer : You're still fighting the war, is that it? You Texans, you never know when to quit, do you?

    Gil Favor : Maybe not.

Teddy : If I had my way, we'd still fighting it.

Gil Favor : Well, if you don't fight any better than you work, you're never gonna get anyhere! Now get 'em in there.

  • Gil Favor : What makes you think I need cheering? Come on.

[and he leads Hey Soos off to find another store that sells shirts]

Rowdy Yates : Come on, Wishbone.

Joe Scarlet : We decided we needed a drink.

Wishbone : Mighta knowed you wouldn't get past the first saloon.

Jim Quince : What's the matter? Wouldn't he come with you?

Rowdy Yates : Ah, who cares if he comes with us? The way he's acting, he'd just ruin the party anyway.

Wishbone : You ever think he's got troubles you don't know about?

Rowdy Yates : What troubles? He just got a disposition like ten miles of bad trail, that's all.
