- Trying to push a herd through late in the season is just one of the hurdles facing Gil. A hand who insists on covering his face and a visitor who says his horse came up lame are two others. When he uncovers the truth it may be too late.
- Favor is driving a late herd and is short on hands so he hired young Lance Ford who wears a mask to hide his face. The men believe he is wanted gunman. A man named Brazo saying he had to shoot his horse walks in asking for a job and is hired. That evening Pete pushed by Wishbone tries to unmask Lance but is stopped by Brazo. The men believing Lance and Brazo are gunmen after each other are surprised that Brazo is the older brother of Lance. Brazo is a gunman for hire in range wars. Lance reveals the mask hides a burn scar on his cheek. He leaves to take gun job in Barker Springs for rancher Slate Prell. Brazo, Favor, and Rowdy ride into Barker Springs where they hear how Slate has killed people including the husband of Rainy Dawson who runs the restaurant. Slate confronts Brazo but everyone leaves peacefully. Back at camp Lance rides into camp shot in the back for refusing to kill Brazo. Brazo returns to Barker Springs for revenge with Favor and Rowdy following. Brazo kills each of Slate's men with minor help from Favor and Rowdy. He learns Slate shot his brother so he takes Slate last. Rainy would like Brazo to stay but he leaves with Rainy stating he will be back.—Anonymous
- Two estranged brothers join the drive, the older one retiring from gunfighting and trying to prevent his scared brother from following in his violent and criminal footsteps. Favor and Rowdy accompany and defend the older one in his mission.—chipe
