  Phyllis Hunt : Yeah? I didn't know they could talk!

  Sonia Stevens : There is something in there! Now why won't you believe me?

  Helen Smart : Well that's a silly question if you want my opinion.

  Sonia Stevens : You know what I think of your opinion, Smart.

  Helen Smart : Yeah, well, it's mutual, darling.

• Rick Manning : [retrieving a piece of hose from under some sheets in Sonia's cell]  Is this what you're scared of?

  Sonia Stevens : Bitches! Those bloody bitches put it there!

  Rick Manning : Pull yourself together Stevens, someone's playing a joke on you, that's all.

  Sonia Stevens : Joke? That is no joke!

  Rick Manning : No, it's a piece of hose.

  Sonia Stevens : Listen, you'd better start protecting me.

  Rick Manning : Just.. just calm down.

  Sonia Stevens : Calm down when somebody is trying to kill me?

  Rick Manning : Pull yourself together, you're getting hysterical!

  Sonia Stevens : [now shouting]  Of course I am getting hysterical, you would be too if you spent the night in this cell with something crawling around you all night, and now that!

  Rick Manning : That is a piece of bloody hose!

• Cass Parker : Jeez, Jude, you don't look too good.

  Minnie Donovan : Yes Judy, what is it?

  Judy Bryant : Helen is in hospital, so is Mrs Morris...

  Bobbie Mitchell : Why, what's wrong with them?

  Judy Bryant : Helen went into her cell, right? There's a bloody snake in there! It bit her!

  [Judy is interrupted by the manic laughter of Sonia from the table behind her] 

  Sonia Stevens : Well, you believe me now, don't you? You see I slept with that thing last night. All night. In the dark.

  [she laughs again]
