- Harrison is at a treatment center for his leukemia. His hospital roommate turns out to be annoyingly optimistic terminally ill teenager, who can't stop talking about Jesus. Harrison becomes increasingly annoyed by him until his anger finally gets the better of him and he lashes out at the guy with surprising results. The clinic also offers eating disorders treatments, so Sugar applies because of his morbid obesity. His support group consists of several anorexic girls, all named Ashely. One of them becomes impressed by his openness and shows interest in him romantically. He tries to reciprocate only to realize that he hates himself and that he has to deal with these negative feelings first. Brooke has a relapse and arrives at the same clinic to deal with her eating disorder. Sam applies for a ghostwriting job. She is to ghostwrite the memoirs of a certain person from her school. When she goes to meet this person in the school's bathroom, better known as the Novak, Mary Cherry locks her in in there together with herself and her sushi master, beautician and a guard. She recalls her troubled childhood and Sam has to listen and write all that down. Carmen learns of this and tries to help her friend escape but she gets stuck to a toilet seat. Mary Cherry's retelling of her past and her abusive relationship with her strict mother becomes increasingly incoherent and implausible.
