What won't Officer Walt Kyles do to make that arrest?!
Officer Walt Kyles (John Amos) is a cop with a mission. He knows that a local do-gooder in the black community is actually dirty. Years ago, Borden Gampu (Hari Rhodes) was an angry and violent guy...with an extensive criminal record and plenty of race-baiting to boot. But over the last decade or so, Gampu has changed his image and is now widely respected as a leader in the inner city. Kyles thinks that Gampu hasn't changed...just his methods. With the blessing of his superiors, Kyles and his partner go on a campaign to catch the guy. With the help of a police psychologist, he formulates a plan to annoy Gampu enough that he'll let down his guard. But how this all plays out is a bit of a surprise...and part of the surprise includes Kyles having his family threatened.
While this is a very enjoyable episode, so much of Kyles' actions clearly break the law. I guess the attitude is 'you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet'...in other words, to preserve the law you need to break it!! Fascinating and a bit troublesome because of this. Amos' acting is very good as is his adversary, Rhodes.
