As of 2007, the Dirigo II yacht, featured in the Dion home movie in this episode, was available for charter out of Long Beach, CA. The boat has had restorations and minor changes since the 1964 filming.
The last of six episodes that don't include Perry Mason as the attorney of record. As in the others, Raymond Burr is replaced by another actor. In this episode, Barry Sullivan plays the defense attorney Ken Kramer. Raymond Burr apparently fell ill when this episode was filmed.
Barry Sullivan was one of several guest actors to play the defense attorney in Perry Mason's absence. Other actors to step in (during five previous episodes without Perry) were Bette Davis, Walter Pidgeon, Hugh O'Brian, Mike Connors, and Michael Rennie.
Early in the episode, Lona Upton (Kathie Browne) drives a 1965 Ford Mustang convertible. That was the first "full" model year, and this is the first use of a Mustang in the show.
The last of four appearances in the series by Kathie Browne. She also was in three episodes of Raymond Burr's later series, Ironside (1967).
