British-born actress Virginia Field, who was educated in Paris and Vienna, shows off her linguistic talent in this episode with a French/Italian accent. (Her character talks about working in Paris.) Field appears in multiple Perry Mason (1957) episodes, including The Case of the Tsarina's Tiara (1966), where her accent is Russian.
This is the second episode of the first season featuring a wife who was accidentally crippled by her husband (the first was The Case of the Fiery Fingers (1958)).
