"Danny Converts" is an unusual latter entry, with Danny falling for a Jewish girl named Renee Stern (Lark Geib), whose father (Noam Pitlik) happens to be a Rabbi. Problems arise when Rabbi Stern asks Danny about his bar mitzvah, his family unaware of his deception. As an actor, Noam Pitlik was probably best remembered for his role as Officer 'Swanny' Swanhauser on SANFORD AND SON, but became far more prolific as a director, doing over 100 episodes of BARNEY MILLER. This was Gary Dubin's fourth appearance as Danny's buddy Punky Lazaar, who makes a bet with Danny that he won't be able to go out with Renee, the new girl in school. The featured song is Barry Mann's "I Heard You Singing Your Song," from the LP BULLETIN BOARD (previously heard in "Heartbreak Keith").
