A Truly Lovely, Kind, and Incredibly Dangerous Android
Hitchcoc29 October 2014
This is a little bit fluffy. A beautiful android has been created and tested in a lab. It will be her job to infiltrate places, using her sexuality, to get secrets and deal with evil people. The "mistake" that has been made is--you guessed it--she has human qualities. While she has a kill mechanism installed, as her learning curve increases, she begins to embrace that humanity. After she escapes the scientists, she makes the acquaintance and develops a friendship with a female "repo" person. She finds out this woman's callous view of the world has been initiated by a nasty ex-husband who has kidnapped their daughter. While Mona Lisa is quite serene, she can be formidable. She must also face the fact that the authorities are looking for her and have installed a GPS. It's as if the android has developed an ultimate purpose for her brief existence and this is what the episode is about. Still another offering based on the evil intent of the government. Worth a watch to see the utter benevolence programmed into the android.

Warning: Spoilers
This is a touching and moving story about an Android who exceeds her programming. Mona Lisa 37x is an Android created by Dr Haley at Quanitron. His boss has had him program her to be a spy and an assassin, but Dr Haley seems uncomfortable with this. After a test where she rips the head off a male android,Mona escapes. She meets up with Teddi Madden,a female repo specialist. She accompanies Teddi to her repo yard and exhibits superhuman strength in saving a man who is under a car when the lift malfunctions. She damages her arm doing so and Teddi sees her wires and hydraulics. Teddi leaves but finds Mona already waiting for her at her apartment. She says she ran. Teddi, frightened by calls Dr Haley to get her but changes her mind when the goons who come with him break in and brutally take her. Teddi steals their van after they put Mona in the back. After switching cars, Teddi tries to figure out what to do Meanwhile,a Quanitron tech has figured out how to implant a virus when. Mona accesses a modem. When she does so.to find the location of Teddi's scumbag ex who kidnapped their young daughter. They head for the trailer park as Mona progressively weakens. Teddi goes inside leaving Mona who can't move. The daughter is in school .The ex arrives and a violent struggle ensues. Mona comes in on emergency power and almost kills him before Teddi tells her to because it's wrong. Mona is spent and sends Teddi to meet her daughters bus,but first Teddi tells Mona she's the best friend she ever had. Mona witnesses their reunion and departure, then uses a lightbulb to overheat her systems. Haley arrives and says she finally learned the secret, that killing is wrong. The ending of this actually made me cry and Conway's closing narration was especially.profound.

One of the more touching Outer Limits episodes

Warning: Spoilers
While there are many android episodes in the OL series, I just thought that this one was one of the more sweet-natured. You really did care about the fate of the android, even though she is programmed to kill. The actress bears quite a resemblance to the antagonist in Terminator 3. I thought the mother, bereft of her daughter, is an interesting character, a person hardened by life who nevertheless wants to do good. The show really is about people finding their better natures, I think.
