On February 16, 1964, The Beatles made their second appearance, The Beatles' Second Appearance (1964), on The Ed Sullivan Show (1948) with a live performance from Miami Beach. They spent the following week relaxing at a private residence on nearby Star Island. On the Monday after the performance, the Beatles watched this episode with police sergeant Buddy Dresner. Dresner used the word "zap" to describe one of the ray blasts, a word the Beatles had never heard. Dresner was later surprised to hear that they had used the word in the song "The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill" from the White Album.
