He knows garbage when he sees it. Then why does he want to produce a Broadway show?

Warning: Spoilers
There's two rounds of applause here for guest stars, a cameo by Ben Vereen and a supporting guest appearance by Wallace Shawn as a millionaire garbage collector who wants to invest in Maxwell's latest opus. An unseen encounter with C.C. put that in Jeopardy when she assails him for a cab with her umbrella, so friend must step in to pretend to be Maxwell's partner. But when Shawn begins to ask for too much in return, Maxwell must step in to make a decision as to who will call the shots and his production, jeopardizing money that Sylvia and her Canasta friends have invested. This episode shows what goes on behind the scenes of producing a Broadway show, and has some very funny moments, putting C.C. out in the rain and giving Niles his usually funny cracks at her expense. The viewers get to see C.C.'s apartment. Shawn's over-the-top performance will get a mixed reaction, especially with the exaggerated delivery of each of his lines, but with Shawn, you've come to expect nothing else than what he delivers here.
