The mansion used for the producer's home is the same location used in Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998) and Scream 3 (2000).
Sharona mutters the phrase, "just keep thinking, Butch" to Detective Randall Disher. This is taken from the 1969 film, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", spoken by Sundance. The whole line was originally, "You just keep thinkin' Butch. That's what you're good at".
One of the few episodes that does not show the crime taking place, except for the flashback at the end when Monk says his trademark, "Here's what happened...".
When Leo Navarro (Willie Garson's character) asks Monk if he's "mental," Dr. Kroger introduces himself to Leo as Adrian's psychiatrist. This, however, would violate multiple federal and state laws (HIPAA, etc.), as well as ethical standards (and potentially state licensing board regulations) for medical practitioners, as this is a major violation of patient confidentiality.
