When Mr. Monk is first shown, in closeup he is cutting up the right side of a coupon, but when the shot changes to a wide angle, he is cutting a different coupon along the bottom on a different page.
Lt. Disher reveals that he is allergic to cats, and if a cat has been in a house within a year, his allergies appear. But in Mr. Monk and the Sleeping Suspect (2003)(#2.7) when they are visiting Amanda Babbage's house, a cat runs by Disher and he doesn't react. In Mr. Monk Bumps His Head (2006)(#4.11) at the end, Cora Little is holding her cat and standing just a few feet from Disher, and he doesn't react.
[11:48] At the homeless shelter, Lt. Disher is disguised as a bag lady wearing a gray vest, being served ahead of the old man who doesn't want any gravy. Then Lt. Disher, wearing a purple vest, is served after the old man.
When Monk takes his police uniform out of his closet, there is only one uniform, and all the jackets in the closet are turned facing to his right. However, in the scenes during Season 1's opening theme, there are two uniforms, and all the jackets are turned facing Monk's left.
[9.11] Julie (Rachel Dratch) is seen answering the phone in the bottom right of the frame. In the next shot, the phone is still ringing and is picked up for a second time.
Julie can't remember whether forgery is a "Class B" or "Class C" felony. California doesn't classify felonies, and forgery can be prosecuted or punished as either a misdemeanor or a felony.
When Monk is lured to the third floor of the library, an assailant tries to injure or kill Monk by tipping over the first bookcase so that they all cascade tipping over towards Monk. This is in San Francisco where earthquakes are expected, and the bookcases should have been anchored to the floor to prevent tipping over in an earthquake.
