The setting is an ostensibly Spanish speaking nation, but apart from the news paper's title it is all in English.
Two Spanish names are misspelled: "Frederico" should be "Federico," and "Cabal" should be "Cabral."

During one of the initial scenes showing a TV screen and a news announcer, it becomes apparent that they are using a fake "screen' in front of a live actor. In a second scene, the background can be seen behind the right edge of the screen. This would normally not be seen within the standard NTSC crop.
The map used is authentic, depicting Eastern Venezuela, with the exception of two added features: Ysidro Hills and San Estoban, which, incidentally, is a misspelling of San Esteban.
