The fishing poles in the back of the Daytona change from two long white ones when they leave Miami, to black when they arrive in the Everglades. One of them also gets shorter.
Upon arriving in Okeechobee, one of the posters visible promotes the Hurricanes (University of Miami). The Lake Okeechobee and Glades region is still well within the local recruitment area for the University of Miami, not the University of Florida. In addition, at the time of the filming of the episode in 1984, the Miami Hurricanes were the defending National Champions, thus greatly increasing their popularity both statewide, and nationally.
One of the guys that ditch Crockett and Tubbs in the swamp makes a crack about the foreign origin of Crockett's Ferrari. However, when Crockett and Tubbs pull into this little "country town", a Renault and 3 DeLoreans are also parked within 100 feet of each other.
When Tubbs and Crockett talk about the trip they are making, Tubbs mentions that they are driving "down" to Okeechobee. Okeechobee, Florida is 130 miles north of Miami.
