Ted is upset when he gets a message from his father that he is going to visit in a day. Ted's father abandoned him and his mother when Ted was two. Murray said it was probably when he started talking. Anyway, there are hilarious times ahead as Ted does everything he can to avoid seeing his dad, including a case of laryngitis. Lou knows he is lying and makes him play a game of charades to tell him that he has lost his voice. Eventually, Dad shows up. He is a kindly little man who runs a laundromat. Ted isn't impressed and is actually ashamed. In a final scene, Ted and Georgette show up at Mary's apartment. I forgot how hilarious Georgette is, in a clueless kind of way. She is so sweet but also insightful. Ted's father wants to borrow 2000 dollars from his son. Of course, Ted is about as cheap as one can be and this becomes so distressing to him. Great episode with many wonderful lines.
