After seeing stock footage of the Hong Kong skyline, we see cars on the street parked on the right side of the road. The traffic in Hong Kong drives on the left side, so cars would be parked on the left side of the road (most of these scene were shot in Oahu).
During the chase which is supposed to be in Hong Kong the bells of a San Francisco cable car can be heard, and one box in the alley is a Sunkist Orange carton which would be unlikely since the product would spoil during the time it is shipped from the USA.
As T.C. leans over the railing as he searches for the writer, a line of people can be seen on the deck below looking up as he delivers his line.
If a "priceless" artifact was stolen while at sea, the ship wouldn't have docked without contacting the authorities, who would have been waiting on shore when the vessel arrived. Anyone leaving the vessel would have been thoroughly searched, if they were allowed to leave at all.
