This is one of two Christmas-themed episodes of "The Lucy Show." The first was "Together for Christmas" (S1;E13) during season one when the Carmichaels lived with Viv and Sherman in Danfield, New York.
Lucy rehearses the choir in "The Twelve Days of Christmas", pantomiming along to cue the boys as what comes next. The choir uses the lyric "three red hens" instead of the more traditional "three French hens."
This is Jimmy Garrett's final appearance on the series. The next time viewers hear about him, Lucille Ball incorrectly calls him Jimmy instead of Jerry.
Malcolm, the young boy who enters Lucy's apartment covered in grease from working on his bicycle, then proceeds to grease up Mr Mooneys hat is played by a young Michael F. Blake, who was the son of popular character actor Larry Blake. These days, Mr Blake is the foremost expert on the life and career of legendary silent film actor Lon Chaney.
This is the last time Jimmy Garrett appears in as Lucy's son Jerry. Both of Lucy's children have at this point have been written completely out of the series.
