  Jessica : What is it, Rem? Can you tell?

  Rem : A powerful electrical disturbance - I suggest we stop and see what's causing it.

  Rem : A probe of some kind - quite active.

  Logan : Whose? From where?

  Rem : Insufficient data.

• Logan : Jessica, Eakins has lied to us ever since we met him.

  Rem : An unfortunate, but human, trait.

• Logan : Rem! It's wrong. We'd be wrong to help him. We can't allow him to destroy our world.

  Rem : We have no proof that he could.

  Logan : But he's willing to try.

  Rem : Just as you're willing to stop him.

  Logan : Yes.

  Rem : So, it becomes a question of which one of you will change history.

• Jessica : How can we change history?

  Rem : Well, we know Eakins was in his own time when the Holocaust happened.

  Logan : So?

  Rem : We know the result of that - that although most of the world was destroyed, some people survived.

  Logan : Are you saying that we could alter that?

  Rem : If we keep Eakins here, who knows what could happen. The whole world may come to an end. There may be no survivors. If we change just one piece of the past, we may also alter our own present.

  Logan : You mean we may cease to exist whether we help him to get back or keep him here?

  Rem : So it would seem.

• [Rem tinkers with an ancient computer that has survived for two centuries concealed behind a panel] 

  Logan : Rem, can you make it work?

  Rem : [bemused]  My dear Logan, really.

  Rem : It was his discovery of time travel that destroyed the world.

  Jessica : What now?

  Logan : We do what he said. We keep looking.

  Rem : I think we owe Mr. Eakins our best effort.
