- Beaver believes he's been unfairly reprimanded for accidentally breaking Wally's track trophy, takes his Dad's offhand comment to find new parents literally, and with pal Larry Mondello's encouragement, heads for an adoption agency to see if he can do better.—shepherd1138
- Wally and Beaver take part in a community field day. Wally ends up winning a trophy, of which the family is excited, even Beaver despite Larry's assertion that the trophy means nothing since it's not made of real gold. Regardless, Beaver and Larry end up breaking the trophy. Beaver and Larry's trophy repair job ends up being not very well done. Wally believes Beaver broke it on purpose because he's jealous of his brother's success. But when Beaver gets chastised by his parents and Wally, Beaver doesn't know if he really is sorry anymore he broke the trophy. Angry at everyone, Beaver wishes he had nicer parents, which Ward sarcastically responds that Beaver can try to find new parents if he wants. Taking his father's comments literally, Beaver decides the best place to go to find new parents is an adoption society. But as Mrs. Brady, the understanding adoption society manager, gets closer to finding the best parents she can for Beaver, Beaver starts to get cold feet about his decision for new parents, but doesn't feel he can back out now that he's come this far.—Huggo
