- A known gunfighter, always needing to prove he is fast, goads a young, new father into a gunfight, kills him and after skipping town, has Dan on his trail. His acquittal fuels hatred in town as he and his wife want to live in Laramie.
- Gunfighter Burley Keller likes to kill people. In the Birdcage Roy celebrates the birth of his new baby. Burley questions whether Roy is the true father while Jake is gone. As Jake returns he witnesses Roy drawing on the faster Burley who kills Roy. Burley leaves town fast and returns to his wife who is tired of her husband's killing and wandering ways. Troop tracks Burley and returns with him for trial where he is acquitted. Burley makes a show of hanging up his gun and settling in Laramie with his wife. He eventually asks Lily to leave town with him but she rejects him. Burley puts on his gun and challenges the Turner brothers who are celebrating in the Birdcage. Troop intervenes and is forced to kill Burley but is wounded.—Anonymous
