Karen is upset about something and wants to get away with just Sid. Richard is running for the school-board on the platform of "radical" teachers in the classroom. Teaching about venereal disease, teen pregnancy, and drug use. Karen and Val oppose Richard in getting rid of the "radical" teacher. The teacher becomes infatuated with Karen, but she turns him down after she goes to meet him. Karen organizes a rally to oppose Richards bid for the school-board. Richard loses in the election. Karen confesses that she is just feeling older/less appealing/motherly. She decides that she likes herself just the way she is.
