- A newspaper in Washington prints a guest editorial supposedly by an anonymous Naval officer; the op-ed piece represents a violation of the UCMJ, because it contains words contemptuous of President Clinton. Harm, Mac, and Bud investigate. Bud finds evidence indicating the article in question originated from Harm's office computer. The Office of the Inspector General of the Navy begins an official investigation. A conservative outside civilian group offers public relations and legal assistance. Harm figures out who wrote the objectionable item and it is not the Leavenworth inmate you think it is. He holds a press conference, and he gets a promotion to full commander. Mac encounters an unusual question about childbearing vis-a-vis a conflict between the almost wife and almost ex-wife of a dead Marine over the late jarhead's sperm.—DocRushing/RM Sieger
- Harm's career is on the line when he is accused of writing an editorial highly critical of the President. Mac deals with a squabble between a late Marine's girlfriend, who wants to use his sperm to have children, and the Marine's estranged wife, who is opposed to such usage. After Harm is cleared of any wrong doing he receives his promotion to commander from the SECNAV.
- Harm faces a court-martial when a letter critical of the President appears on the Op-Ed page of a newspaper and is traced to his computer. As an investigation threatens Harm's promotion as well as his entire career, a well-known conservative organization offers to represent him and Harm accepts. The key to Harm's defense is to find the actual letter-writer, so Bud digs through Harm's old case files searching for those with an axe to grind.
- Rabb is about to be promoted to full Commander. However a newspaper prints a highly critical editorial criticizing the President.
