Amy's new boyfriend proposes and wants her to go on the road in a traveling revival; Dot is up for a hairspray commercial but Jan disapproves; Howard gifts Nancy with a diamond ring, unaware the gem is stolen.
This is a very good episode. It's about time Amy had some action in her romantic life, and she and Bobby Lee have good chemistry.
I remember 1988 being the first time people began mentioning the depletion of the ozone layer, so Jan's concern was topical at the time.
Sonny sings Jethro Tull's "Aqualung" and we see Nancy grooving along to it while she dreamily admires her ring. She even plants a kiss on Sonny's cheek. Great stuff!
Nancy makes a funny GUNSMOKE reference in regard to Bobby Lee. The last scene where Nancy is incensed about her arrest and mugshots is priceless and one of her best of the season. There are some good jokes in this scene.
An above average episode for this era and probably the second-best of the season after "Rear Window".
