Maggie is mugged in the underground parking garage on her way to work. A policeman ("Special Guest Star Gregory Sierra") equips all the gals with mace so they can defend themselves. The B-plot has Sonny annoying everyone with his new "Mr. Rhythm" percussion machine.
This is a fan-favorite just like Season 1's "The Intruder". IAL fans must really love episodes where the ladies are in some sort of peril against an attacker. I have never been that impressed with either offering, though. The writing is flat and there are hardly any laughs in this one.
Maggie's "sleepwalking" bit at the beginning is mildly amusing, as is her line to Cassie: "I thought it would happen to YOU".
Dot's scene in the elevator is basically a monologue but isn't very interesting. After Dot is attacked, Nancy praises her for not being a "dizzy wimp" then Sonny refers to her as "Dot the Enforcer" and plays gunfire sound effects on the Mr. Rhythm machine.
The cast seem lethargic and bored in the final dining room scene where the gals face the attacker, and you may be too.
The waitresses now seem to be extremely overdressed when seen in their civilian clothes. There are lots of sweaters and layers and I wonder if this was due to the network wanting to shake the Jiggle Show reputation from Season 1.
