Take one, so I took one!

Such a gem to misunderstand something then it gets out of hand that's why I love this show. Lucy truly knows how to get back at Ricky she goes all the way as to bring a real baby elephant, which I think is adorable (I hope there were animal trainers and was treated well). Although Ricky is not at fault Fred convinced him she's a kleptomaniac. Still she and Ethel spooked them good. The coco clock scene is hilarious.

Corny but funny

This show is such a gem! Even when things are ridiculous - such as Lucy keeping a baby elephant in the bedroom and having it appear at the fadeout - we love the show so much that we simply don't care! Lucy and Ethel are sensational in their scenes in the Ricardo living-room shocking Ricky and Fred into thinking that they may indeed be crooked.

Fans of baby boomer telly will notice Mr. Wilson of "Dennis the Menace" show up: Joseph Kearns is a psychiatrist who's posing as Ricky's friend.

Lucy's Ginger Rogers ("The Major and the Minor") type baby talk is a hoot as is her treatment of Ethel and her collection of purses.

Timing is so great and essential to real comedy and this show had it all. In spades.

Nearly 60 years ago this show premiered on television; doubtless it will never go off the air: it'll 'outlive' all of us.

Lucy herself once stated: "It's a nice thing to leave the world": millions of us agree, dear Lucy!

"Who do you think you are? Me?"

Another episode where Lucy could have avoided trouble had she just been honest, not telling Ricky that she's collecting items for a club Bazaar and where she got money that he finds in her purse. As a result, Fred and Ricky think she's a kleptomaniac especially when they see her take Fred's valuable cuckoo clock which results in a very funny scene where Lucy hides the clock and tries to pretend she's doing bird imitations every time the clock cuckoos. Ricky brings in the psychiatrist to examine Lucy (his mispronunciation of psychiatrist is particularly hysterical), and the episode is funny in spite of the fact that the situation should have been easily explained from the beginning.

Fun underrated episode!

Warning: Spoilers
I don't know why this one isn't talked about more but it's ILL at it's zany best . Ricky gets the idea that Lucy is a kleptomaniac because she hasn't told him she is chairwoman of her clubs annual bazaar . She's getting things to sell and hiding them all in the hall closet . She also takes Fred's prized cuckoo clock since Ethel asked her to have it auctioned off. Watch for the bird calling scene! Ethel knows what Lucy is doing as her friend and club member but hasn't told Fred either. Ricky is genuinely concerned and gets a psychiatrist ( listen for his pronunciation!) to come over and try to help. A much better one than a later psychiatrist he called on . Fred clues Ricky in on Kleptomania saying it's not her fault it's a disease but he does want his cuckoo clock back!

From there it's even zanier as Lucy and Ethel pretend to be bank robbers! The ending is a little silly but in keeping with the tone of the episode so it works.

Lucy takes things!

This is an amazing episode! Humor throughout, with the best parts being when Lucy is caught by Fred and Ricky and pretends to be a bird imitator! A similar episode is done on Three's Company many years later, an obvious homage to this. Lucy at her best!

Tho I find this episode very funny. Her facial expression when the psychiatrist is questioning her "huh, ehe, yeah" hilarious. Ethel is a riot as always. Lucy,s cuckooing is irritating. Ricky and Fred aren't five years old. Is Lucy Ricardo mentally challenged? The elephant scene isn't funny it's stupid. Lucys funny when she's not being irritating meaning get a laugh for acting dumb. I don't find humor in stupidity. William Asher takeover as director he added the irritating factor to Lucy Ricardo. He brought the irritating humor to Bewitched too. So many irritating characters on Bewitched I can't watch it. If you can get past the childish humor in this episode watch.
