- Frank Grayson: Just what are my services to be, Mr. Coe?
- Henry Coe: Drive them sodbusters outta my valley.
- Frank Grayson: Your valley?
- Henry Coe: My valley. My blood mixed with it's dirt. My heart pounding through it's rivers. My soul whistlin' on it's wind. And I don't want no mud-level pigswillers fouling it up for me. My valley.
- Luke Macahan: You all right?
- Molly Culhane: Yes Luke, but our garden isn't.
- Luke Macahan: [takes a look at the garden ruined by the Nealson brothers] Ain't too neighborly.
- Cory Nealson: Heh? That's a mistake. Horses just got spooked.
- Laura Macahan: That's a lie. They did it deliberately.
- Jessie Macahan: Horses don't shoot tomatos!
- Luke Macahan: Now your boots.
- Cory Nealson: What are you talkin' bout?
- Luke Macahan: Your boots and socks, get 'em off. 'Course, I could shoot 'em off, but you might lose some toes.
- Luke Macahan: Gimmie that gun, aunt Molly!
- Molly Culhane: No, Luke, I am not going to let you kill that man, or be killed.
- Luke Macahan: Aunt Molly, I am telling you: gimmie the gun, now!
- Molly Culhane: No, Luke! Violence never solved anything and it won't solve this situation. Look what violence has done to your life. Has it helped you? Has it helped anybody?
- [after a moment hesitation, Luke walks away]
- Frank Grayson: [tipps his hat to Molly] The lady that keeps the sunshine in.
- Molly Culhane: I am not without thunder, Mr. Grayson.
- Laura Macahan: Would you do something for me?
- Frank Grayson: I'm tempted to say 'anything', but... gotta ask what it is.
- Zeb Macahan: Now listen to me, gall. In the world I was brought up in, the lowest form 'o life would be a man that struck a woman. Now the world may have changed, but I ain't.
- Zeb Macahan: Right now I'm lookin' for a couple of your men. Hauled my niece out into the street and dragged her through the mud. I aim to return the favor.
- Henry Coe: Just gonna do that all by yourself, are you?
- Zeb Macahan: Well, nobody lives forever, Henry. Don't much like the thought of goin' by myself, so maybe I'll just take you along with me on that road to hell.
- Frank Grayson: Well Zeb, I'd like to tell you something: considering my occupation, I've led a reasonably quiet life. 'Till I met the Macahan family. I don't think I've drawn a peaceful breath since that time.
