Buntz gets in deep
Woodyanders20 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
City councilman Wade (well played to the smarmy hilt by Walter Bobbie) gets on Furillo's (a terrific Daniel J. Travanti) case about s crack epidemic that's running rampant on the Hill. Grace Gardner (the delightful Barbara Babcock) resurfaces as a nun named Sister Chastity. Buntz (an outstanding Dennis Franz) finds himself in serious danger while attempting to bust ruthless shylock Falco (a frightening portrayal by Joseph G. Medalis).

It's a treat to see Gardner as a nun who's determined to spread hope, but yet still comes across as extremely sexy and thus stirs up lustful thoughts in Flaherty (likeable Robert Clohessy). It's also a hoot to watch Belker (a fine Bruce Weitz) work undercover at a restaurant in which he's forced to wear a goofy uniform. Alas, poor Jablonski (sturdy Robert Prosky) has heart issues that prevent him from resuming his career as a cop. Familiar character actor Don Calfa contributes a memorably scuzzy turn as sleazy drug pusher Armis. This episode concludes on a shocking note with Buntz having one of his fingers cut off by Falco.

Is It Really Worth It?
Hitchcoc3 August 2021
Buntz runs on adrenaline as he gets into it with evil loan sharks. Barbara Babcock returns, having entered the sisterhood, as, of all things, Sister Chastity. We have the appearance of a new villain, a councilman who is doing everything he can to discredit Furillo and the Hill Street precinct, blaming them for the drug problems. Daniels is his puppy, expecting, but showing, no loyalty.
