- Amanda needs help from Wolf to steal back a deed from an auction house that belongs to a bloodline of former slaves
Amanda's thieving job is interrupted by a pair of smash-and-grab amateurs, one of whom apparently dies after jumping in the river. Nick accuses her of covering up for a fellow Immortal after reports of the burglar's missing corpse circulate through the newspapers. While combining forces to track down the hapless thieves, Amanda learns that the supposed Immortal (Simon Clark, played by Phil Akin who also played Charlie DeSalvo in the original Highlander series) is a descendant of freed slaves she knew over two hundred years earlier. She agrees to help him retrieve his ancestor's papers detailing their manumission and land grant from the museum prior to their auction. Nick steps in to help Amanda complete the theft after Simon dies from the injuries inflicted by his prior partner. As Amanda said, "Sometimes what's right isn't what's legal".
