The ship is alongside the Coast Guard cutter as Danny begins to walk aft, but when the camera angle changes the ship is about 50 yards off the starboard side.
At the beginning of the show the thieves' stolen gold is shown. They were supposed to have stolen 158 lbs. but they had more than 50 bars of gold in their vault. Gold is very heavy and that many gold bars would have actually weighed closer to a thousand lbs.
The amount of gold stolen is "185 pounds Troy." This is said to be "about 300 kilos," but it is actually about 69 kilos.
As previously noted in another goof, McGarrett was not only wrong in his conversion of the gold from troy pounds to kilos (he apparently used the conversion ratio for miles to kilometers), he overvalued the price of the gold. He said the gold was worth 1.2 million dollars for the 158 lbs. which would be about $540.00 per oz. At the time the show aired gold sold for about $110.00 per oz.
When Lawrence and Quillian search the basement after the power is accidentally cut by Mott, the gold bars they have produced are in a tank seemingly being washed. But this fails to make sense because that process would not alter the appearance or age of the gold as it does not oxidize over time.
