The Hit Car is a modified 1966 or '67 Dodge Charger.
The episode ends with a freeze-frame of William Katt breaking the fourth wall by looking directly into the camera.
In the pilot, Rhonda (Faye Grant) had blonde hair but now has red hair. This is not necessarily a continuity goof as it is not known how much time has passed from when the pilot took place to when this episode occurs, and Rhonda could have changed her hair color as she is trying to improve herself. A photo of Rhonda with blonde hair appears on the poster for the school play.
In the pilot, which was the previous episode, G.D. Spradlin played the villain while this episode's bad guy is played by Gianni Russo. Both actors appeared in The Godfather Part II (1974).
The Hit Car will appear again in A Nice Place to Visit (1983), another Stephen J. Cannell production. The car is never in motion and is just one of several cars at a small-town garage towards the close of the show.
