In the Dragonfly's kitchen, Sookie and Michel complain to Lorelai about Paris being a terror. Michel is upset and says that, "[Paris] mocked my accent. She called me Canadian." In the series, the character of Michel Gerard is boastfully from France. However, the actor who plays Michel, Yanic Truesdale, is originally from Quebec, Canada.
In the DAR office, when Rory offers gossip to Emily, Emily calls Rory her own Valerie Plame. Plame was the CIA operative outed in the Washington Post in July 2003.
The Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling event Logan mentions is in fact a real event that happens every year on the May Bank Holiday. Competitors start at the top of (a very steep) Coopers Hills, in Brockworth, Gloucester (England) and chase after the cheese, the winner (first one to the bottom) wins the cheese.
When Rory visits Yale, the freshman guide passing with a group of students in tow is giving exactly the same speech that the guide gave when Rory started at Yale. Also, the guide is the character Althea, who gave Rory and Paris dating advice in the season 5 episode "Say Something."
When Lorelai and Paris are having lunch at the Inn, Paris jokes about the stupidity of others by saying, "Build an ark, because a flood is coming." Lauren Graham, who plays Lorelai, will go onto co-starring with Steve Carrell in "Evan Almighty (2007)," a comedy about a man who builds an Ark for God in the 21st century.
