The sketch "The Last Heterosexual Man In San Francisco" is a close parody of the movie The Last Man On Earth, the first film adaptation of I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. In particular, the main character being trapped in a room while the voices of his "tormentors" taunt him.
Bruce Mahler plays a bespectacled rabbi character with a distinctive way of talking. Mahler would play a version of the same character on Seinfeld (co-created and produced by Larry David) 15 years later.
