Ricco Poccari has to convince Princess Maya to leave Rome, and return home to govern her kingdom, Kawlait, her father has been killed, and ruthless villain Cathis wants to steal the throne.
There's a certain naivety, almost innocence about it, the way The Middle East was perceived at the time, it's very romantic, it's almost Disney like, you have the beautiful Princess, and the villainous ogre who would be king. It's enjoyable for what it is, it's not meant to be taken to seriously.
It's good to see an episode with Poccari, we haven't gotten many stories with the great Vittorio de Sica, lots of charisma and charm, nice to see him joined, briefly by Richard Conte, there haven't been as many crossover episodes as I'd thought.
Mai Zetterling was quite good I thought, she seemed to enjoy the role.
6/10.
