Ricco Poccari has to convince Princess Maya to leave Rome, and return home to govern her kingdom, Kawlait, her father has been killed, and ruthless villain Cathis wants to steal the throne.

There's a certain naivety, almost innocence about it, the way The Middle East was perceived at the time, it's very romantic, it's almost Disney like, you have the beautiful Princess, and the villainous ogre who would be king. It's enjoyable for what it is, it's not meant to be taken to seriously.

It's good to see an episode with Poccari, we haven't gotten many stories with the great Vittorio de Sica, lots of charisma and charm, nice to see him joined, briefly by Richard Conte, there haven't been as many crossover episodes as I'd thought.

Mai Zetterling was quite good I thought, she seemed to enjoy the role.

6/10.

There is trouble in the fictional middle eastern country of Kawlait. The king has died and the news is being kept quiet. The king was adamant not to allow uranium processing in his country.

His sister Maya (Mai Zetterling) has been away from Kawlait for some years. Now Poccari has to get her back to Kawlait safely so she can be the new queen. Maya is the only heir.

In her way is villainous Cathis. He plans to declare the country as a republic and take over as the new ruler. His backers want uranium processing which will make him wealthy.

Cathis has set in motion a plan to kill Maya.

Typical of the stories set in the middle east at the time. No one looks like a middle eastern Muslim or even has a Muslim name.

It was hard to believe that the king had no other heirs apart from Maya. The story never explains how Cathis will be able to just walk in and take over, he does not even look to be military.

At least Poccari has a flight to remember.
