The Pontiac Bonneville (one of General Motors' brands) driven by Roberto Sanchez (Roger De Koven) was the fourth-generation restyling of the model, with plenty of bright trim on the lower body sides and on the rear deck. The model was discontinued in its 10th generation, in 2006.

Sister Bertrille tries to convince the Reverend Mother about the soundness of the bread-baking business, giving the example of the liqueur made by Benedictines. She is probably referring to the Carthusians Monks (Order of Saint Bruno), which actually has its own Rule, called the Statutes, rather than the Rule of Saint Benedict. The herbal mixture for the liqueur is prepared by two monks at Grande Chartreuse monastery since 1737. They are the only ones to know the secret recipe.
