Peter kills TV in Quahog
Sleepin_Dragon10 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Stewie is not impressed at being force fed broccoli and decides it must die, so he devises a weapon, the weather machine. Meanwhile Peter takes Meg for driving lessons, but a lapse in concentration sees Peter take out Quahog's TV mast. Peter of course passes the blame onto Meg and bribes her.

I loved the Scooby Doo sketch, really funny, as was Peter's surreal dream. I'd forgotten just how funny the Star Trek parts were, William Shattner's movements, so funny.

Stewie was at his best when he was evil, he was possibly the star of the show in the early episodes, with his plans to kill Lois, and dark dialogues. That line 'who the hell do you think you are?' is the best one.

Peter isn't very good at teaching Meg how to drive!!

Warning: Spoilers
Was laughing so hard when Peter had that cardboard TV taped onto him and he was going crazy.

She never got that car he intensely promised in exchange for keeping that secret.

I really like the hysteria in town over the cable being out for a whole week.

It's strange and nice that they didn't fix it right away and how it wasn't the town's main priority.

Throw Everything At The Wall
injury-654472 June 2020
The MO of the show seems to be: throw so many jokes at the wall that surely some of them will be funny enough to stick. The rest will hopefully be passed over and forgotten. I have to say it works - as long as you can keep finding good quick jokes.

This episode was fine - but relied too much on William Shatner references that I feel took up minutes of screen time. I mean ... it's less funny when you keep doing it over and over. Bad sign.

I like how Stewie incorporates children's toys into his evil mastermind inventions - very cute concept.

It's a decent enough Episode but it's ultimately forgettable and I don't need to see it again.

Funny that Lacey Chabert voiced Meg in this one.

Funny!
g-bodyl17 August 2013
The second episode in the Family Guy Season 1 is another funny episode. We learn more about the Griffin family and how Peter is a doofus. I like how the show makes fun of pop culture. This is just a tad better than the first episode and a bit funnier. Stewie is a funny baby and I like how they create new ways to use broccoli.

"I Never Met a Dead Man" is about how Peter crashes into the TV satellite and disrupts the whole town's TV power. Now Peter learns to live life without the TV.

Overall, this is a funny episode. It has some character development as we learn more about Peter. It's a bit better than the first one. I rate this episode 9/10.

Great episode
Analog_Devotee13 January 2021
By the second episode of season one it was clear that Family Guy would cement itself as not only being raunchily hilarious but also wittily in tune to social commentary, like being addicted to the TV set (or, nowadays, social media and cellphones).

Good but a bit generic
jayjaxan20 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After Peter teaches Meg how to drive and crashes into the cable thing all of the cable goes out in Quahog and it becomes the generic story of the family liking the new peter and then wanting him to go back after the cable comes back and there's this side plot with Stewie and broccoli also there's a lot of cutaways still funny though.

This was a good episode! I definitely enjoyed it. I Saw This on TBS On Demand Network One Sunday, and it waz good! I really liked the family guy classic from season 1. They should've kept it that way but yeah it can be kinda sad when things go away quickly.. I give this TEN OUT OF TEN! I hope to see more of these in the future...

The One Where Peter Destroys TV For The Whole Town...
taylorkingston19 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This episode makes me laugh, a lot. Every single time I watch it. Well, any Family Guy episode makes me laugh a lot, but this one in particular.

In this episode, Meg is learning how to drive, so she gets Peter to take her out for a lesson. But during that lesson, Peter manages to crash the car into Quahog's TV transmitter, which leaves the entire town without television. Peter convinces Meg to say it was her, as he didn't want to take the fall. Peter eventually lives without his TV shows and becomes more active. He tires out the entire family with his new lifestyle and eventually, they figure out a way to fix TV for the town, which leads Peter straight back to his beloved couch.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.
