"The Scourge" is about the Costa Nostra...the Mafia. It's brutal, exciting and one of the better episodes.
The show begins with some mob thugs led by Johnny Albin (Robert Duvall) beating a man to teach him and his brother a lesson about dealing with the mob. However, the beating ends up killing the man...and soon the FBI becomes involved.
Their next target is a company headed by a man who recently insulted one of the higher ups in the mob. Johnny is to offer the desperate man some much needed money...in order to get their hooks in the business and ultimately destroy him. How far can they push this guy until he agrees to help the FBI in their investigation?
This one is very well written and is a nice illustration of how the mob works with 'legitimate businesses'. It also has it all...a lot of exciting moments (especially the ending), wonderful acting and excellent pacing. Well worth seeing.
