There are two main story lines in this episode. First, it is Roy's turn to cook and he's cooking some fancy dish that requires a lot of prep and grocery buying. Johnny is very worried, as all the other firemen, and would love to be working on C shift! Roy in his ever-quiet way shows his irritation with Johnny by offering to see that he works with C shift in the future. "By supper?" Johnny sarcastically requests.
The other story line involves a young man, whom Johnny and Roy bring back to life after he injects drugs. He has no parents, only an older brother, who feels guilty for not doing a better job and now worries he'll be a vegetable.
Then of course, like many other episodes we have to have a risky rescue. In this case, it's a man at the very end of a long...rail high up in the sky. Johnny makes sure Roy understand he's a bit frightened. Johnny quips that it's like walking on a fence rail, then after they start across the blue expanse, even Roy agrees it just may be a bit different...The writers/producers do a good job in making the whole scene stressful and action-filled.
Another incident involves an accidental electrification in a kitchen.
Another great episode!
