One of, if not the first, episodes to show synthetic lines/ropes being used in a rescue.
When the paramedics respond to the injury at the auto repair shop, in the background, there is a yellow 1932 Ford "Deuce" coupe on the auto lift. This is the famous "hot rod" heavily featured in American Graffiti (1973), driven by Paul Le Mat as John Milner. The car was still in Universal Studio's transportation pool, and was therefore available to be used in other Universal projects, of which this was one. Two years later, the car would again be featured in the "American Graffiti" sequel, More American Graffiti (1979).
Harold "Hal" Frizzell appeared uncredited in 69 episodes of Emergency, most as "Ambulance Attendant". However, as the heat stroke victim is lying on the ground and the ambulance attendants arrive with their gurney, John Gage walks past and grabs the blanket off the gurney. As he does, he says "Hal we're not going to need this. We're trying to keep her cool." Thus establishing Hal's character was named Hal, similar to the M*A*S*H actor/character Roy Goldman playing Roy Goldman.
The title refers to the villain from the Peter Pan stories that take place in Neverland about pirates and Indians and has been made into books, plays and movies.
