After pleading his innocence, Villon is offered refuge from the searching authorities by an old soldier. During the night an incident causes the soldier to regret his decision. Villon has until the morning light to prove he is an honest man.
In Paris in 1453, Francois Villon, after escaping from the Guards after a tavern brawl, takes refuge in the home of Bristout, a professional soldier. Posing as a scholar, Villon discusses at length the virtues of man. He steals a valuable goblet from Brisetout, who later protects him from the soldiers. Will he repent or will he take the goblet with him?—GusF
