An excuse for Doris to change outfits about 20 times in one episode
jjnxn-17 April 2014
What the hell was that? Shot almost at the tale end of the eponymous star's series run it clearly shows that it was running on fumes.

Almost the entire running time is devoted to a fashion show with only one model, that would be Doris herself. She's in great shape, deeply tanned and trim and dressed in some knockout fashions that show those assets off. However she also wears both some astoundingly hideous outfits and some truly unflattering wigs. Add into that the fact that we are suppose to believe that the audience watching the show would patiently wait while Doris would totally transform her look and the whole thing becomes ridiculous.

The fashion show is framed with a few brief establishing scenes, some that feature Peter Lawford looking every one of his years, but as a whole it comes across as an excuse to show the star in a cavalcade of clothes to fill 24 minutes of air time.

DD still looked great at 50!

This episode is mostly an excuse for Doris to show off dozens of early 70s fashions. Not much of a plot but it has something of a variety show feel. Well worth seeing just to note how great Doris Day still looked at 50. At one point she opens a robe to reveal the bikini she is modeling and women half her age would kill for her figure!
