- A man named Harrison B. Harding stops by the office looking for Rob. Rob claims not to know anyone by that name, even though he claims to be an old army buddy from the time Rob was stationed at Camp Crowder, Missouri. When Rob finally meets him, Rob does not recognize him despite Harrison greeting Rob like they are indeed friends. Harrison even brings up Laura's name. By the end of their meeting, Harrison finagles a dinner engagement that evening for the two of them, Laura and Harrison's wife Evelyn, who Rob is also supposed to know. Because of Laura, Rob invites the Hardings to their place for dinner instead. As the dinner party gets started, Rob is certain that he's never met either of the Hardings and feels uncomfortable having strangers in his house. He ultimately comes to the conclusion that they are being conned by the Hardings, although Laura doesn't believe so. Some suspicious behavior on the Harding's part and Rob finding out what Harrison carries in the brown paper bag he seems so protective of leads to Rob and Laura understanding what Harrison is really up to, but not before the police intervene.—Huggo
