Michael Goldfinger joins in the recurring role of Rusty, the electrician, always exposed south of the equator, and it takes the seemingly dumb Vanessa (the very good Olivia Brown) to explain why, showing that she isn't exactly all that dumb. She's jealous of Anthony's other lady friend, Lita (the returning Mariann Aalda) whom the women still don't like.
"I think that Ian might be a homosexual", Suzanne says about their waiter, adding "The restaurant business is riddled with homosexuality", a line that got a ton of laughs at gay bars when it first aired in 1990. in the restaurant, you get to see Vanessa for who she really is, an insecure young lady falling for Anthony who really has a big heart, mentored by the designing women. Of all of Anthony's girlfriends on the show, Vanessa was my favorite, and I wish she had remained on recurring.
It is in the restaurant where Julia explains to Vanessa the real meaning of class, and Suzanne turns into professor Henry Higgins, turning Vanessa into quite the stunning business woman. There's also the return of Patricia Wilson as nanny Mrs. Philpot whom Suzanne thinks is a con-woman. A very funny episode with a lot going on, but very fast moving.
