- TriviaFIrst episode with Gale Gordon's "John Wilson" character. It should be noted that John did not step into the role of his brother George "as if he'd always been the Mitchell's next door neighbor". In fact, in the latter episodes of this season and several times in the next (final) season, references are made to "the other Mr. Wilson", John "buying the house from his brother", and John's assertion that "I didn't live here last year".
- GoofsThe position of the electric fan with streamers in Quigley's Market changes from being pointed at the checkout counter, to being pointed toward the stockroom when Mr. Wilson opens the bag of feathers.

Good Old John Wilson!
Thankfully Gale Gordon came on board starting with this episode to take over as Mr. Wilson. To please the continuity police, Gordon plays John Wilson, brother of George Wilson. No effort was made to have two different actors play same part. One plus to this casting move is a new Mr. Wilson allowed the series to make it 4 seasons. A series needs to last at least four seasons to make it attractive for syndication. So we can watch reruns 60 years after it went off the air. And it can continue to run for decades to come! As for this movie, it's great fun. Gordon is a comic genius. And writer's block is a common problem. The episode is much more fun than reading a book on writing.
