"Wilt, take this basketball and stuff it!"
Newly retired NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain was a good sport, perfect for this early roast. Former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Happy Hairston has to squash the rumor that Wilt would like to change his name, as the one he would prefer is already taken- Bill Russell! Audrey Meadows appears as literary critic Roberta Kush, who turns a thumbs down on Wilt's 'alibiography,' telling viewers what it's about: "6.95, batteries not included." Record breaking jockey Willie Shoemaker reveals himself to be (surprise!) Wilt's twin brother, all 4'11 compared to Wilt's 7'1 ("I ride horses, he rides referees"). Nipsey Russell plays the NBA's first black referee, while United Press reporter Vernon Scott is on and off so fast, you could blink and miss him. Norm Crosby and Ken Berry are merely okay, while Oscar winning actor George Kennedy supplies the most devastating putdowns, such as describing the intimidating Wilt as a "gangling freak." Bringing up the rear in the absence of Foster Brooks is Jackie Gayle, who talks about Wilt's sexual prowess and the time he made two foul shots in a row: "they sent the ball out for a drug analysis!" A lifelong bachelor, Wilt never shied away from his appreciation for the ladies, such as Raquel Welch, and freely admits that happiness isn't all about boozing and womanizing, "but it's the closest thing I could think of to it!"
