The real Wyatt and Morgan Earp arrived in Deadwood in Fall of 1876 in search of making their fortune. Once they arrived, Morgan observed Deadwood was too overrun with prospectors, miners, promoters and fortune hunters so he left before winter. Wyatt stayed and ran timber because there was a shortage of fuel and he was able to charge a high premium for a profit. Once spring came in 1877, Wyatt tried his luck looking for gold before he realized all likely looking gold claims have already been staked. It was said Wyatt finally left after Seth Bullock and he didn't see eye to eye on a matter.
Second time that a character played by Paula Malcomson has interacted with Wyatt and Morgan Earp. Malcomson played Allie Earp (Virgil Earp's wife) in Tombstone (1993).
Seth Bullock tells Mrs Bullock the combination to his safe due to the arrival of Hearst's extra men the previous night. Bullock uses a mnemonic to help his wife remember the safe combination. This mnemonic is 'one third of six is two', meaning the combination is 1, 3, 0, 6, 2.
